Candidate Lake offers a subscription for recruiting teams who want to automate candidate screening in a GDPR-aligned way. Customers keep ownership of their data, while Candidate Lake is responsible for operations, support, and security. Read the full terms below for details on payment, cancellation, data protection, and liability.
1. About the service
Candidate Lake is a SaaS service that analyzes resumes and candidate information to help recruiting teams make data-driven decisions.
The service is provided by Vallden Ventures AB ("Candidate Lake", "we"), reg. no. 5594504176, based in Gothenburg, Sweden.
2. Definitions
User: A person with a registered account in the service.
Customer: The legal entity that purchases the subscription and is responsible for the users’ activity.
Candidate data: Resumes, notes, and other information uploaded by the customer to the service.
3. Subscription and payment
Subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe Checkout in SEK. VAT is added according to Swedish law (25%).
Payment is made in advance for each billing period. Failed payments may result in access to the service being paused.
The agreement renews automatically unless the customer cancels before the current period ends.
4. Fair Use Policy (Use & limitations)
For products or subscriptions marketed as “unlimited” candidates or analyses, a reasonable use (“Fair Use”) policy applies to prevent abuse.
The per-position product (one-time purchase) covers analysis of up to 500 candidates per position. For volumes above this, we reserve the right to contact the customer to discuss an Enterprise solution or pause the analysis.
Systematic or automated bulk imports of data that are not tied to a specific, active recruitment process are considered misuse.
We reserve the right to limit or suspend accounts that show abnormal usage patterns that place unreasonable load on the system or conflict with the intended use of the service.
5. Customer responsibilities
The customer ensures only authorized users access the account and that login credentials are handled securely.
The service may not be used for unlawful discrimination, distribution of malicious code, or to analyze data in violation of applicable law.
The customer is responsible for ensuring candidate consent is valid and documented when required.
6. Data protection & privacy
Candidate Lake acts as a data processor for candidate data. Data is stored within the EU, currently in Supabase (Postgres) with encrypted connections.
We process data in accordance with GDPR, applicable Swedish law, and our data processing agreement (DPA).
The customer owns all candidate data and can export or delete it via the service UI or by contacting support.
7. Intellectual property
All software, AI models, and design belonging to Candidate Lake are protected by copyright and may not be copied without written permission.
The customer is granted a non-exclusive license to use the service during the subscription period.
8. Termination and cancellation
The customer can cancel at any time in Settings. The subscription ends at the end of the current billing period.
Candidate Lake may terminate the agreement in case of material breach or if use violates the law.
After cancellation, candidate data is stored for 30 days before being deleted or anonymized, unless otherwise required by law.
9. Limitation of liability
Candidate Lake is not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, or data breaches caused by third parties.
Our total liability is limited to the amount paid by the customer during the last twelve (12) months.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect new functionality, legal requirements, or business conditions.
Material changes will be notified by email at least thirty (30) days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date means the customer accepts the updated terms.
